This rum had almost escaped our attention. However, something was driving us to rediscover it, and as the tastings progressed, its potential was fully revealed.
We therefore decided to bottle it after two successive batches, so that it expresses its full character, without however proceeding to a reduction.
Produced by Trinidad Distillers Ltd., it was distilled in column and aged for 10 years in bourbon-filled oak barrels, first in the tropics of Trinidad, then for an additional 8 years in the UK.
Only 255 bottles were released.

On the nose, a real aromatic explosion! We first perceive aromas of camphor and burnt caramel, accompanied by touches of roasting, vanilla nuts and tobacco, forming a seductive balance. It is advisable to give it about twenty minutes to breathe, in order to release an amazing fruity range, where the blackcurrant stand out, a mixture of tropical fruits (mango and passion fruit), followed by a note evoking the yellow brugnon.
On the palate, it displays a concentrate of red and tropical fruits. Mango marmalade and passion fruit blends harmoniously with orchard fruit. The texture is rich and pleasant, with a beautiful flexibility. Then, more complex and mature aromas of camphor and mint appear.
The finish, of an impressive length, is marked by a minty veil, slightly tarred and smoked.
“A rum that evolves over the course of tastings, each time offering new facets…”
